Educational Philosophy
– Children learn best when relationships in the classroom are strong;
– Staff learn best when trusted! Children learn best with happy staff!
– Learning needs to be hands-on not worksheet and text books;
– Active learning is the most powerful way to learn;
– Marking should be done 90% in the moment!
– Education should be fun, challenging and relevant.
– A school is a learning environment for the whole community.
As a father of two young children, I have gained a profound appreciation for the transformative influence that strong teaching wields over the lives of young learners. The arrival of my own children catalyzed a significant evolution in my teaching methodology, fortifying my commitment to education. My conviction in the power of effective pedagogy extends beyond theoretical knowledge within the classroom; it is deeply rooted in the profound impact that exceptional educators, and conversely, less effective ones, can have on the lives of young individuals. Central to my philosophy is the recognition that relationships form the cornerstone of our endeavors, both within and outside the classroom.
From my earliest recollection, the principle that if a task is worth undertaking, it merits the commitment to execute it with excellence, has been instilled in me. The pivotal moment occurred during my 19-year-old self’s participation in a summer camp in Chicago, where the my calling lay in the field of education. Since that juncture, I have remained dedicated to a relentless pursuit of self-improvement, adhering to the philosophy of striving to be 1% better each day and the continuous acquisition of knowledge to cultivate both my personal and professional growth.
In our quest for achievement, we recognise the effort and candid admission that there is always room for enhancement. This innate human trait forms the bedrock of effective professional practice! Acknowledging that no individual possesses omniscience, we appreciate the value of collaborating with seasoned and impassioned colleagues to facilitate our ongoing growth and evolution.
